Growing up on a farm in rural Minnesota, I was always fascinated by how trees were determined to sprout inside old, abandoned buildings even though there was no direct sunlight. It is also hard not to notice the many barn swallows taking residence in these buildings. The marquetry theme are spring blossoms as they start growing out of the cabinet and a family of birds that build a nest inside the cabinet. There are over 1,050 pieces used to create the vivid marquetry images and geometric parquetry patterns.
